Stamp and its use in illustration – my insights

I know that for many, Stamping is a complex topic. Many people cannot understand why they need it? What is this anyway? We used to draw with our hands, paint over with pencils, and think with lines, and a stamp is a completely new look at familiar things. It expands the space for creativity and develops imagination. For a long time I myself tried to grasp the essence. Stamping and other printing techniques at Cambridge University were difficult for me, I did not understand their application, but I really wanted to understand!

There is very little information on the net or grain by grain in different sources, especially about the stamp EXACTLY in the illustration, so I was looking for a master – a Professional – who can sensibly and sort everything out on the shelves. When I first attended Masha Titova’s master class in Shanghai, I just fell in love! In the way she teaches, how she knows how to make complex things simple, in her charming timbre of voice and imaginative thinking.

It is a great honor to learn from her. She possesses the concentrated experience, knowledge and ability to transfer this knowledge that we need. I suggested to Maria to create a set of courses on printing techniques and she agreed! And now – the stamping course is ready!

And now, when I have already looked at the course materials, I AM JUST IN LOVE! This is what I have been looking for !!! I understood and understood! And today I want to share my discoveries with you. So:
Stamp is a constructor

It allows you to create an infinite number of variations from a limited number of elements. And this makes the brain work in a different format. You start to think NOT with a line, but with separate elements – prints: dots, circles, zigzags. For me, this approach was very new and useful.

An imprint is a unit of measure

That is, a beetle, for example, can appear from a print of a potato. And that’s all. No lines or fills. The unevenness of the print creates a natural texture and it’s amazing! This is not a joke, this is a real tool that you can use and no one will guess how you managed to achieve such an effect!

Development of creativity and freedom of creativity

Certain limitations of the selected materials and forms train the boundless flow of imagination, increase creativity and the ability to create new, unique and original. The main thing here is to understand – to understand the principle – and you will no longer be stopped!
